Clarity with depth,
Strategy with soul
Strategic communications advisory for organizations navigating cross cultural markets.
Ensuring ideas retain meaning and intent across languages and contexts.

Ensuring ideas retain meaning and intent across languages and contexts.
Communication is often approached as a matter of effort. More messaging. More channels. More visibility.
But effort alone does not create understanding.
Meaning does not stay fixed. It shifts across contexts, audiences, and expectations. What feels clear in one setting can take on a different meaning in another.
Communication is not about exposure.
It is about whether meaning is shared in the way it was intended. Without clarity, even the best intentions become noise.
Phthalo Communications takes its name from phthalo blue, a pigment known for its richness and longevity. Valued for its strength and consistency, it reflects a belief that meaningful work should retain its integrity over time.
That belief carries through in how each engagement is approached, with care, intention, and a focus on creating communication that remains steady and meaningful as it evolves.
Most communication challenges are not about what to say. They come from a lack of shared clarity across different contexts.
This is where our work begins.
We work to bring clarity to how ideas are expressed and carried across audiences and environments, then bring structure to ensure they carry meaning in a consistent and grounded way.
We begin by understanding the full picture: the market, the culture, and what leadership is trying to achieve.
Together, we identify what truly matters and bring focus to what may feel complex or unclear.
We develop narratives that feel coherent, natural, and able to hold meaning over time.
We support alignment as communication moves across teams, markets, and channels.
Organizations tend to engage at moments of growth, transition, or expansion.
Often, these are the points where clarity and alignment begin to feel less certain.
The areas below reflect where this work most often takes place.
We start by understanding what truly needs to be said.
Clear thinking creates the foundation for everything that follows.
Communication works when people, decisions, and messages move in the same direction.
We help bring that sense of coherence together.
Not everything needs to be said.
We focus on what is meaningful, and what will genuinely make a difference.
Communication is built over time.
Trust comes from consistency, care, and the ability to be understood.

Stephanie founded Phthalo Communications after years of working with organizations where communication needed to bridge different perspectives, expectations, and ways of working.
Over time, she became interested not just in what was being said, but in how ideas were understood differently depending on context.
Growing up and working between cultures has given her a natural sensitivity to nuance in language and interpretation. Her experience working across Chinese and North American contexts has further shaped how she approaches communication, particularly in situations where meaning does not carry over as expected.
She brings this perspective into her advisory work, helping leadership teams express ideas in ways that remain clear, grounded, and consistent across different environments.
She approaches each engagement as a collaborative process, working closely with clients to bring structure and thoughtful perspective to how organizations communicate direction, change, and purpose.
Stephanie leads each engagement directly and collaborates with a small network of trusted consultants when additional expertise is needed. Each collaborator is selected for their experience, professionalism, and the care they bring to their work.
If this way of thinking about communication feels relevant to where you are, we would welcome a conversation.
