Brand and Messaging Development for a Home Fragrance Brand
Worked closely with the founder of an emerging home fragrance brand to define its positioning and communication foundation ahead of market entry across multiple markets.
The brand had a strong creative direction and a clear aesthetic sensibility. At the same time, it was trying to express many ideas at once. Without a clear center, different elements began to move in parallel rather than together.
This made it difficult for the team to clearly articulate what the brand stood for, and created uncertainty in how it should be expressed across markets, stakeholders, and situations.
The work focused on establishing a clear and usable foundation for how the brand is understood and communicated.
This included:
- developing a clear brand positioning
- building a structured messaging framework
- creating English product naming aligned with the brand’s concept
- organizing how key ideas are expressed across different situations
This resulted in:
- a clearly defined positioning that anchored how the brand is understood across markets
- a messaging foundation that could be consistently used across media materials, brand communications, and award submissions
- stronger internal alignment, with the team able to articulate the brand with clarity and confidence
- faster and more consistent decision making, guided by a shared understanding of what the brand stands for
- communication materials that were ready to be used when engaging external stakeholders, rather than created reactively
